July 1st, 2014 by Victoria Troupe

summerpiggybank165182522Financial Aid just got a lot more fun! In honor of summer, InternationalStudent.com, the premier resource for students studying internationally, and your’s truly, International Student Loan, have teamed up to bring you an opportunity to win money while you learn more about international student loans, just by surfing the net and playing on social media! Too good to be true? Not this time!

What is the Financial Aid Fun Contest?

We’ll be posting a new question (often with a link to help you), once a week for three weeks. Mark your calendars for:

On each of these days, we’ll ask you a question. Share your answer with us on Facebook, Twitter or our blog! For each question you get right, you’ll be automatically entered in a drawing for a $100 gift card. That means you’ve got 3 chances to win for a total of $300! Deadline for submission of each question is 3pm EST on Wednesday of the following week (July 9th, July 16th and July 23rd).

How can you win?

Simply add us on Facebook or Twitter. We’ll post the first question, starting July 2, 2014. Just submit the answer to the question by posting it on your feed and tagging us, or submitting it directly on our blog. We’ll announce the winners the following Thursday. Don’t worry if the winner is not you.  A new question will be announced on Friday – so try again!

Who knew financial aid could be so much fun?

    Hi,
I’m an Italian student and i’d like to participate!
I think that this is an amazing idea to increase our knowledge about this subjet, and it’s really useful!
    My answer is:
A Cosigner is a third party to a loan who provides a guarantee that a loan will be repaid. The guarantee by the cosigner reduces the risk that the lender will lose the money he/she has distributed to the borrower. The cosigner signs an agreement with the lender stating that if the borrower fails to repay the loan, the cosigner will assume legal liability for it. A cosigner may be an institution, but is often a relative or friend of the borrower, especially for personal loans. Persons with little or poor credit history sometimes cannot receive a loan without a cosigner.
    Kind regards,
    Noem

Not sure if this is the right place to post the answer…
Co-Signer refers to an individual that would agree to take on the responsibility of paying on the student’s behalf (loans, rent, tuition) if the student is unable to make payment.
